The House Cup is an upstanding tradition at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. The House with the most house points wins the shiny trophy to show off for years to come. The question is, how does one earn points for their House here on Failing Destiny? Actually, it's fairly simple and very much like it would be if Hogwarts were real. You gain points through roleplaying. Professors give students points for answering questions right in class, for doing good things (this is all in roleplay). You can also gain points by playing by the rules on the actual site. The HEADMISTRESS or one of her many minions might give you a few house points every now and again for being a good member.
But everyone is also susceptible to being deducted house points. In roleplay, say your character met with their secret lover in the Astronomy Tower at midnight, and they were caught. (PLEASE NOTE: Your characters do not have to be caught if you don't want them to. If you DO want them to be caught, message a Professor and ask them to interrupt the midnight session.) You can also lose points by not following the rules of the site. A staff member can deduct points if someone breaks one of the rules listed in the RULE HANDBOOK.
